nathalie-chalmers-french-translatorMy name is Nathalie Chalmers. I am a French national from the region of Provence in the South of France.

I gained a Degree in English literature and translation from the University of Montpellier in 1985, before moving permanently to the North East of Scotland where I later obtained a Post graduate Diploma in Information Studies from what is now the Robert Gordon University.

I established French Language Services in 1995, near Aberdeen, Scotland.

I am a qualified member of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (MITI), as well as a member of the ITI Scottish Network, French Network and Arts Media and Tourism Network, taking advantage of the networking and further professional training opportunities they offer, as well as adhering to the ITI professional code of conduct.

I am also the author of a bilingual book for children, The Mysterious Safe/Le mystère du coffre, which was published by the French publishers Editions Talents Hauts in 2009.

I am a member of the Society of Authors, both as an author and as a translator of children's literature.
